Ways To Write Interesting Articles

Ways To Write Interesting Articles

Writing interesting articles separates one from those thousands of other writes out there with complicated writing skills. Writing interesting content is a process of scripting original and informative content. An interesting piece is one which contains new and interesting information backed with facts.
The most important thing in an article is the title itself. The title has to be catchy and should grab the attention of the reader. The article must be segregated into three segments- introduction, body and the conclusion. Select a topic which relates with the target audience. The opening few sentences have to be written in a way as to keep the readers interested and hooked. Remember not to start your work with a question as the readers might not relate to it and move on to other intriguing essays.
Facts should always be backed up by statistics. Always write on subjects on which you have a good background knowledge. Thus, the article has to be well researched and informative. This will avoid one from producing unnecessary content. The readers must feel that they have gained a good amount of information from the article. People like to read about new things that are interesting. Mention as many new things as possible about the subject. Adding humor to the article can sometimes be more appealing and pleasant to the reader.
Make the content more conversational to enable the readers to relate to it. While writing the paper, ensure that the interest and sentiments of the audience is unharmed as it is going to be read by a mass audience. Writing short paragraphs keeps the interest of the audience alive as they can relate themselves with the story easily.
An interesting editorial is only complete when it has a good ending. The ending should always be satisfactory to the readers, as they will eagerly read other works of the same writer. The focus should always remain on topic, as it will make the audience feel that the work was specifically written for them.

Interesting and Informative Articles

Interesting and Informative Articles

It is not just easy to write an article without having an idea of any particular topic so for article writing we need to develop or steal an idea. However, to generate an idea with your own thought is better because it enhances your thinking power. If you have to write on social issues then you need to be conscious about your social relation and try to focus on the issues related to your social life. It is not difficult to generate new ideas because human minds have a lot of ideas, but it need to be extract and sort out properly.
To convert your idea into a worthy article you need a sound knowledge regarding its all aspects on which you have to write. One of the most important factor in making an interesting article is the writing style. Writing style varies from one writer to another. It is because a person mostly develop a writing style base on his nature, way of thinking and type of authors he mostly read. The length of an article also matters as some authors believe that an article of 400 or more words is better then that of 250-300 words because lengthy article elaborates the topic more clearly and preciously however I have a different thought in this regard.
I observed that most people haven't so much time to read lengthy articles and readers like to read articles of 250-300 words in which your idea is described clearly and the information is delivered in an easy way.
The liking of your article is based on topic selection, writing style, the type of language used in it. Just writing an article is not enough because readers like interesting and informative articles however perfection in doing this will come through practice.

Article Writing Tips - How to Write Interesting Articles

Article Writing Tips - How to Write Interesting Articles

1. The first thing that I suggest you do is to discuss a topic that is interesting. You must be able to grab the attention of your target audience as fast as possible. Also, I suggest that you conduct some keyword research. Find out what people are typing into the search engines and you will have a better chance of reaching these people.
2. Second, use very effective titles in your articles. People will not open your article if it does not look interesting to them. So, make sure that you use strong words to persuade them to open your articles and never underestimate the power of emotions. Everyone has hot spots that you can target most effectively and most do not even know it. So, use power words and phrases to compel your audience to read your content and use the power of their emotions.
3. Third, your introduction must be powerful. Do not start writing until you have a great introduction in mind. The best thing that you can do to write a powerful introduction is to include your highest quality information first. Doing this is a sure fire way to hook your readers attention right off the bat.
4. Finally, you must offer your target audience with excellent readership. Everyone knows that providing quality information is the key to success online. But, that is just one part of the puzzle. The second part is to make your articles fun and entertaining so that your readers enjoy the experience. Use conversational tone when writing your articles and bring up points for them to ponder on. Surely if you do these things, your copies will be well written.

How to Write Interesting Articles and Get More Views

How to Write Interesting Articles and Get More Views

Learning the skills of writing interesting and attractive articles begins with the writer. It separates you from the herds of thousand other writers having same old concepts and ideas. It is very simple for anyone to simply put down your words and describe any topic but the difference lies in writing interesting and effective article since, the key to substantial and good writing is capturing the attention of the audiences towards your article. You need to be original and witty.
Select a subject towards which your target readers will be interested in. The style, way and flare of writing will make the reader continue reading.
Your starting must be strong. The most important part of any article as it's called in newspapers is "lede", since you need to attract the reader to persist reading the article in the beginning of a paragraph. The first paragraph should be so absorbing that the readers reach the sixth or seventh paragraph before they come to realize that they actually didn't have in mind to read past the beginning.
You should use questions cautiously and unless it is exceptionally intriguing do not use it as first sentence. The reason is that if you begin your article with "Have the idea of being a writer come to your mind ever?''. This can give the reader a chance to say no and move on.
You should always bear in mind to write short paragraphs, not more than three or four sentences. Short sentence make reading easy. This will allow the reader to focus on the story easily, not merely your style.
Never try to toss big words so as to show off your smartness. Be conversational. Most nonchalant readers will stop reading after they hit a couple of "50-cent words."
Be conversational. Do not toss in big words to show off how smart you are. Casual readers get easily fed up with long sentences. Short sentences have their own beauty. Always avoid using unnecessary words.
Many people spice up any type of article with humor and wit. But don't be esoteric. Make it pleasant and appealing to the reader. Humor can create interest in the article and make it more appealing as humor is a comfort to the audience even in serious drama.
Focus on the topic throughout the article thus, making the reader feel as if the article you wrote is specifically directed to or for them.

Science Polls Indicate Americans Losing Some Respect For the Lab Coat

Science Polls Indicate Americans Losing Some Respect For the Lab Coat

First, the good news for scientists: Americans respect advancements in science, technology and medicine more than advancements in any other field, other than the always-impressive "don't know." Unfortunately, however, science polls indicate that respect for for the field is dwindling in comparison to others.
Current science polls from the Pew Research center indicate that 27% of Americans think that our nation's greatest achievements are those that take place in beakers, petri dishes and physics labs. While no doubt an impressive number, similar polls from a scant ten years ago suggested that number was nearly 50%. Despite exciting advancements in medicine and technology -- the proliferation of the Internet comes to mind -- it's clear the public doesn't place as high a priority on these sorts of developments as it did in the past.
Perhaps partially explaining the relatively poorer performance of science in polls is the rise of equal rights as an issue of public concern. Ten years ago, just 5% of people felt that it was the most impressive advancement. In the most recent surveys, that number has more than tripled, perhaps spurred by the election of biracial President Barack Obama.
On an optimistic note for science, polls indicate that Americans still have overwhelmingly positive views of it, with 84% replying that they thought it was a net good for society. Only 6% felt it was largely negative. While there aren't past science polls that are exactly comparable, responses have always indicated that, on the whole, Americans are pro-science.
In all, there doesn't seem to be much to worry about for science -- polls indicate that Americans are a long way away from abandoning it in favor of divination or magic. It is interesting, however, that its prevalence in the national consciousness seems to be slightly receding.

Your Kid's Science Class

Your Kid's Science Class

Many parents are puzzled and taken aback by the number of topics and the complexity of today's science lessons for kids. Sometimes parents look at their children's notes and textbooks and think to themselves that they can not remember learning this lesson, or they remember learning it at a much later grade. Admit it, it happened to you! Do not worry, it is very normal for you to be surprised by your kid's science class. Truth is that kids are learning concepts faster than before and with all the modern advances being made in science, there is always more to learn!
The life sciences which you probably remember as biology, focusing on cell reproduction and photosynthesis now introduces the concepts of cell division at the fifth grade. What you were learning in high school, your kid's science class now teaches in the last year of elementary! To help tutor your kids with life sciences, always read their textbook a chapter ahead of them, and supplement your reading with some online research. You will find that you are learning some new and interesting concepts, and it will prepare you for the questions your child will throw your way!
Back when you were reading school books, earth science told us that there were nine planets in our solar system, and one asteroid belt. Well, nowadays, kid's science teaches them that there are only eight planets in the solar system, four dwarf planets (Pluto included), and two belts that orbit the sun. Right, two belts, that is news to you, isn't it? Like life science, earth science is constantly changing because of the new discoveries being made everyday. What was once a simple study on the different types of rocks, now discusses how to carbon date a rock!
One of the safer sciences in terms of how much new knowledge is added is physical science. This is because the laws of physics have held true for many generations, and when the complicated part of physics comes in, your kids will be in college and probably studying physics as their major. Also, developments in physics usually involve the very confusing and complicated formulas which no kid's science class will discuss unless your kid is in a school for geniuses. This makes it rather safe for parents as long as you and your child can keep up with the pace in which it is being taught. Chances are that you will be able to do so, this is one science you need not worry too much about!
On a final note, keep up with your kid's science class by keeping yourself up to date in the world of science. Try to read some science news online, and keep tabs on what your child is learning. Do not be afraid to speak to your child's teacher either. Many teachers appreciate it when parents want to help their children learn more and better, so all your efforts will be very welcome. Remember that when you can teach something to your child, they are likely to learn it faster and better!

Science Experiments For Middle School - Good News and Bad News for Parents

Science Experiments For Middle School - Good News and Bad News for Parents

One of the problems when your child gets to middle school is that often they will go off on their own and do not always tell you when they have science experiments for middle school students as a long term homework assignment. This can be good news and bad news for the family dynamics.
The good news about science experiments for middle school
  • They are learning independence so the lessons learned now will set up good habits for high school.
  • Any habits that get set now, make the high school experience go more smoothly.
  • Parents get to back away from the homework scene, which is a good thing.
  • Middle school is when strain between parents and the kids can start to become more of an issue. If the parent is just a supervisor, then that takes the emotional out of it.
  • The projects will be more interesting than elementary school ones were. These experiments will be a little more involved. Supervisor role or not, the parent will eventually be involved in some small way, even if it is just proof reading, so it will be less boring with a more involved topic.

The bad news about your middle school child and science experiments
  • They do not always take the time to totally read directions.
  • They think they can remember everything from class.
  • What happens is there might be some starting over if they or the parents figure it out, or a bad grade.
  • Along with this, they also are not always so good at double checking to make sure all the steps were followed.
  • If you do this step, it makes up for messing up on the first one. If they do not do either, the project might just be doomed.
  • Some kids will play helpless and ask for too much help. They liked it better in elementary school when the parents were more involved, may-be even too involved.
  • Then there are the ones that ask for too little help.

Parents can be help in a lot of ways. The kids need to learn the sorts of things that work best to form a kind of partnership. Checking the materials list to be sure the supplies are on hand, proofreading, or even some printer computer trouble shooting would be in order. Growing pains work both ways and there is nothing better to bring these to the surface than science experiments for middle school long term assignments.

How to Write News Articles for Your Local Newspaper - Four Things Freelancers Must Know

How to Write News Articles for Your Local Newspaper - Four Things Freelancers Must Know

Knowing how to write a news article is one thing. How to benefit financially from that knowledge is another.
For editors, a freelance journalist can be an irritant and a savior all at once. They can be bothersome when repeatedly proposing story ideas at busy deadline times but they can also rescue a news desk that may be short of staff on any particular day.
The key to freelance journalism is to keep plugging away with quality work so that the editor will always have time for you.
To get a foot in the door of your local newspaper, a freelancer should know four things - the news, the editors, the newsmakers and the follow-ups.
Spend some time thinking about these four important facets and how you may write your articles before you even start to submit work to any publication.
1. Know the news - it may sound obvious, but you'd be amazed at the number of freelancers who have no knowledge of local issues but believe the quality of their writing gives them first right to premium column space. It doesn't matter how well you write, if your article is irrelevant to the publication's agenda, it has little chance of getting used. Take time to read the paper. Go through the issues and gain an understanding of its editorial stance and what it cares about, not what you think is important.
2. The editors - these people are the gatekeepers of your articles and they could drop your stories at a whim. You should know them, their names, positions in the company, demeanor and how they feel about certain issues, which can give you an idea on how to slant your articles for a better chance of getting published.
3. The newsmakers - it is crucial that you know who makes the news and who doesn't. Go through newspapers in your area and identify which people are the ones who are quoted and to what issues they are often sought out for. Once you know that, go through the phone directory and get their contact numbers. Your ultimate aim is to get to know these people voice-to-voice, face-to-face on a professional, and even personal, level.
4. The follow-ups - this is probably the most important knowledge you can have because this is what will brand you as a journalist. And, significantly, this is not something you can read up on but it is what you generate from your own head. If an issue crops up, arm yourself with the knowledge required from the first three points and then work on a possible follow-up story. Remember, the in-house reporters will probably be doing the same thing, so you should try to think of a different angle. This will prevent you from stepping on toes and also raise your standing in the eyes of editors.
Once you have all this in your head, call or email the editor and tell him or her your story idea. If it is topical, fresh and relevant to what the paper had in its latest issue, and it takes the story further, there is a good chance it will be used.
If so, you have your foot in the door. This does not only apply to newspapers. There are magazines and online news outlets that can also be targeted. Follow these four rules and kick-start your freelance journalism career.

How to Write a Newspaper Article Quickly and Easily!

How to Write a Newspaper Article Quickly and Easily!

Articles in a newspaper are quick and to the point, not infused with a whole lot of personal opinion or evaluation, and tend towards the facts plain and simple as you can possibly imagine. This style may not seem like a lot of fun to write, but it is one of the most important types of stories and writing skills that you could possibly have. After all, newspapers employ more writers than any other writing industry, and even most companies who are not in the writing industry will look to hire people for writing newspaper articles. So, if you're a writer, then you need to learn how to write a newspaper article quickly. And if you need to learn how to write newspaper article quickly, then follow this simple guide.
All good newspaper articles start off with a good headline that will entice the reader to follow up and read the whole article, so it would be remiss of me not to cover the basics in this how-to guide for writing newspaper articles. The type of headline will likely be determined by your placement in the newspaper if you write for a physical product, so make sure to have plenty handy. If your article is to appear on the cover, something enticing will work well, however, if you're stuck on the inside pages, you need to stick to the facts and write a more generic title. Your title also might need to be shortened depending on what kind of space has been allotted for your article. For online magazines and publications, you should find a more enticing title that will tell them about the key idea of your article, but mention that it contains a "surprise" or a "secret." These two words drive more clicks than you can possibly imagine, and work very well for driving people to your articles.
For the body of the article, you need to find some good quotes from interviews. Nothing brings people in like quotes. It will make your article more personable and give it a human quality, plus it allows you to break the flow of facts.
There should be no more than three sentences per paragraph. If you have more to add about a particular topic, you should revisit it after a relevant quote or at the end of the article. Your article will be cramped into a corner and put in thin columns, so writing with short paragraphs will look more appealing and readable. Most people forget this, and will write long and interesting paragraphs, full of information, but will wonder why so many people skip reading them.
The last thing you need to know about how to write newspaper articles is that your article should contain a picture. Words are less powerful than a picture, and a captivating picture will make or break your readability. Without a picture, your article looks dry and unimportant. Acknowledge the Knowledge - And Spend It!

Acknowledge the Knowledge - And Spend It!

Part of my acknowledgment of living is that I learn something new every day. This can be something experienced or something cognitively deduced or something insightful. Whichever way it is sourced, I always try to be true to acknowledging the wonder - and to thank the provider.
I believe it is part of what enables me to keep an open mind on everything and helps me maintain an understanding, a respect and a humility for my fellow humans.
Working a lot with children brings all these beliefs and values right up to the surface, in close proximity, and - by the very nature of coaching and teaching - it means that I spend a lot of time dispensing knowledge or routes to knowledge.
This is a relationship, however, and an equilibrium has to be maintained for this relationship to work best. All communication is a two way thing even though the balance of speak/hear, give/receive, talk/listen, show/copy, teach/learn etc ebbs and flows through the interactions of the relationship. There are times when I'm the learner/receiver and the child is the teacher/giver - its inevitable - it happens. And its at these times when I'm enthused, and I acknowledge the knowledge.
I love the look on a child's face when I thank them for helping ME learn something new today. They can't quite believe what they hear - because they are always used to knowledge, understandings, teachings, to be going in only one direction.
This acknowledgment builds and maintains rapport, which is essential for the teacher/learner or coach/client relationship to prosper, for learnings on both sides to be fostered. A few years back I discovered that by preframing every new school term of coaching visits by telling each class "For me, you are all geniuses - the thing is you don't yet know what you are geniuses at! Part of our journey of discovery this term is to discover what that might be," - that the outcomes in terms of learning skills through enjoyment for every pupil were momentous.
Knowledge is the currency of wisdom - and in the same way that money is worthless unless it is used - knowledge is worthless until it is used. Money and knowledge are purely means of exchange. Learning is an illusion until we use, or spend, the knowledge. To be clever, or artful, is of no use until the person converts their knowledge, uses their skills, for a purpose.
The day an education system tutors children in how to spend their knowledge will be the day it starts to evolve.
For now - all of us need to acknowledge the knowledge, and spend it!

Seeking after the Knowledge of God

Seeking after the Knowledge of God

As you will see in the Scripture verses I will list in this article, God the Father places an extremely high value on the pursuit of knowledge - especially spiritual knowledge. He says that gaining knowledge is greater than all the silver, gold and material things of this world.
The Bible tells us we have to grow in the knowledge of God. Once you get saved - that is just the beginning. From there, God expects you to grow in the knowledge of Him, His Son Jesus Christ, His Holy Spirit and all of Their ways. As I mentioned in the article I did titled "The Power of the Word of God" - the number one way that you grow in spiritual knowledge on this earth is by reading and studying the Bible for yourself. There is no other way.
God has arranged to have all of the spiritual knowledge that we will ever need about Him, His Son and His Spirit to all be contained in this one Book. You also grow in the knowledge of God through your own personal adventures that you have with Him in your own daily walk, along with learning from other Christians - especially those who are anointed and gifted to teach from His Word.
Once again, God uses some very intense language in these verses. You can really tell that He is trying to let all of us know the extreme importance of growing in this knowledge. The reason for this is that God's ultimate aim for us is our sanctification and transformation. He wants us to become more holy like Himself.
However, before God will allow this sanctification process to really kick into full gear through the Holy Spirit - He wants you to fully understand exactly what He is doing and why He is doing it. In other words - you have to have the knowledge as to what God is doing and exactly why He is doing it.
Even small children will pick up on this principle very quickly. Tell a child that he is not to do something - and what is the first thing he will do? He will ask you why he can't do that particular thing. And then if the child is old enough to understand what that reason is - you then proceed to tell him why it is not in his best interest to do that particular thing. In other words - you are giving your child the knowledge that he needs to have so he knows why he should or should not do something specific.
It's the exact same way with God the Father. God loves to transmit knowledge to His children across the board on anything that they may need His knowledge on in this life - but what prevents many of His children from receiving this knowledge directly from Him is that they have never been taught how to hear from Him when He does start to try and communicate with them or they do not press in and enter into a seeking mode with Him to get Him to release this knowledge to them.
If there is one major secret I have learned from the Lord on getting Him to release more of His knowledge to you - is that you have to go into a seeking mode with Him. God will not spoon-feed you forever. The Bible says to ask - and then you will receive. Seek - and then you will find. Knock - and then the door will open be open to you. Notice in all three of those conditions that you have to be the one to initiate it. You have to be the one to ask, to seek and to knock. If you do - then God will answer you, open doors for you and let you find the answers to your questions and problems.
King David tells us that we have to meditate on the word of God. To meditate does not mean to blank your mind out waiting for God to talk to you. Meditate means to think about, to chew on, to try and figure out what specific Scripture verses mean and how they specifically apply to your life.
What I have personally found out is that the Holy Spirit will literally guide your thoughts into the revelation that you are seeking after as you are trying to figure out what the answers are. In other words - you will find the knowledge you are needing as you are seeking after it. The Holy Spirit can either guide your thoughts into what the correct answers are by you just using some of your brain power to try and figure things out or He will guide you as to where those answers are located at.
You can literally learn how to "pull" knowledge directly from God by going into these seeking modes with Him! As you will see in some of the Scripture verses I will list below - it is the job of the Holy Spirit to guide us and teach us things in this life. In other words - the Holy Spirit is our personal guide and personal teacher in this life. The Holy Spirit can and will communicate to you if you are open to receiving this kind of supernatural communication from Him.
I will be doing a much more in-depth article in the near future on the wide variety of ways that the Holy Spirit will communicate to you - especially in the area of receiving knowledge from Him. But for this article - I just want to give you the main foundational verses from the Bible to let you know that God does want to transmit His knowledge to you across the board on anything that you will need His knowledge on in this life. Not only can God give you all the spiritual knowledge that you will seek after - but He can also give you His knowledge across the board on anything else that you may need His knowledge on in this life.
God can give you His knowledge on how to become better parents for your children, better spouses for your mates, better at whatever specific job or jobs He will be calling you to do. If God is calling you to be a policeman, an attorney, a doctor, a nurse, a stay at home mom, an architect, a laborer, a sports star - He can give you His knowledge in each of those specific areas so as to make you better at each of those jobs. There is absolutely nothing that God cannot give you His knowledge on if you are open to receiving it and are not afraid to start seeking and pressing in after it!
Many, many Christians are missing out on this part in their walk with the Lord. God will supernaturally communicate His knowledge to you - but you first have to realize that He does want to communicate His knowledge to you and then you have to learn how to pick it up and properly read it when He does start to communicate to you. Again - I will go into much more detail on how to really hear from God in another article - but in this article, I want to show to you by the Scripture verses I will list below, that God really does want to impart and transmit knowledge to you.
As you will see in the way that I will present the appropriate Scripture verses on this subject to you - we are dealing with an incredible profound reality - in that God Almighty Himself - a Being with perfect knowledge on all things - is willing to communicate and transmit His knowledge to us through the Holy Spirit - who is literally living on the inside of us! Think about this - that you have the knowledge of God already residing on the inside of you in the Holy Spirit who is already living on the inside of you!
The Scripture verses I will list below will show you the extreme importance that God is placing on each and everyone of us in that we seek to obtain this kind of knowledge from Him. In some of these verses, God is making some very powerful and profound statements. He says:
That we are to GROW in the grace and KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
That His people are literally destroyed and will go into captivity for lack of knowledge.
That gaining His knowledge and wisdom will help you walk safely in this life, help preserve you and help keep you on the right path that He has set up for you to follow in this life.
That gaining knowledge, wisdom and understanding is better than all of the gold, silver and rubies of this world and that it does not even begin to compare to anything else that you may desire in this life! In other words, gaining the knowledge of God in this life is bigger and better than any materialistic thing that you could ever buy, want or desire in this life!
To think that God Himself is making this kind of statement in that acquiring knowledge is more important than anything else that we can acquire in this life is as big and powerful of a statement that He can make about what is really most important in this life!
Notice in the first bullet point above that we are to grow in the knowledge of God. I believe that the main reason God is telling us that gaining knowledge is more important than anything else we can seek after in this life is because we cannot grow in God unless we obtain His knowledge and then seek to implement these truths into our lives and walk with Him.
After you get saved - God then expects you to start to spiritually grow and mature in your walk with Him. You cannot become more holy, more transformed and more sanctified unless you are spiritually growing. And you cannot start to spiritually grow unless you are first seeking after the knowledge that will cause this spiritual growth to occur in the first place!
If you really study the people who are most alive in this life - it is the seekers - it is the people who are constantly learning, constantly trying to improve their knowledge base on whatever it is they are seeking after. It is the knowledge seekers that are making the great discoveries that are changing the course of human history with the discoveries that they have made. And they could not have made those discoveries without first seeking after the knowledge that would eventually lead them to those specific discoveries.
As you will see in some of the profound Scripture verses I will list below - God will make you seek and search after knowledge - much in the same way treasure hunters will search for buried treasure. Talk to any true knowledge seeker - and they will tell you that most of their joy comes from the journey of trying to find the knowledge that they are seeking after. Once the discovery has been made and they have found everything that they may need on a particular subject - then it is off to the next great adventure.
Nothing will stimulate your mind and emotions and make you feel more alive than seeking after the knowledge on something that you may really be interested in and be very passionate about. However, many in our country have become "brain dead" and mentally lazy as a result of becoming couch potatoes by watching too much TV. God has incredible knowledge adventures set up for each and everyone of us if we are willing to get up out of our ruts, step out of our safe boats and start seeking after the things that He wants us seeking after.
Before I go into the Scripture verses on all of this - I will leave you with one last thought.
The knowledge of God is like a treasure chest that has no bottom to it! There is no limit to the amount of knowledge that God can release to you if you are willing to dive into that treasure chest and start seeking after it. Think about this long and hard - that the one and only all powerful and all knowing God of the entire universe is willing and able to transmit His knowledge to you on whatever it is you are wanting His knowledge and wisdom on.
Every single Christian has this incredible treasure chest of knowledge and wisdom literally residing on the inside of them in the person of the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is only too anxious and just waiting for you to tap into Him to get this knowledge to start to be released to you!
This incredible knowledge adventure is waiting for each and every Christian who is willing to get off the couch and start using the brain power that the Lord has given to each and everyone of us to start to seek after this kind of knowledge.

The Knowledge Based Society - An Almost Perfect World

The Knowledge Based Society - An Almost Perfect World

With all those things going on in the world, one wonders how we ever got to this point in the first place and how can we get out of it. Did you ever realize how many laws our politicians crank out every year?! Laws, which we than have to live by. They come up with laws and regulations for the environment, laws that tell who and how can make pharmaceuticals, laws about traffic, about food, laws about technology and science and so on and so forth. An endless list! After thinking about this for a while, I started to notice that there is something fundamentally wrong with this picture. Here is an example to show you what I mean:
If you are sick, would you go to a politician for help? Of course not. You would go to a doctor. A man or woman, which has gone to school and is a professional in treading illnesses. So, why than do we live in a world where politicians crank out laws about issues that they themselves have no, or very little knowledge about. Sure, they have advisory boards, but in the end they twist the advice they are getting into something that THEY think would work best. Mostly for their own benefits and to stay in office. That has been this way for as long politics has existed. However, there is hope to change this. Over the last decade or two, a new phrase has emerged in academic circles: The Knowledge based society! Now, what is this? Economic experts, forecasters and academics have seen a trend that started to emerge over time. Here is the concept in a nutshell:
As society changes and evolves, so do its needs and wants, and therefore the economy changes as well. Back in the 1800's, society was based on a land and agricultural economy. The one who had the most land and/or produced the most agricultural products, was the richest and most powerful nation or individual at this time. Than in the 1900 came the industrial revolution, where the industrial output was the deciding factor. Now, in the early stages of the 21st century changes are happening again. This time it is Knowledge, that will from now on forward be the bases of society and the economy. This means that the acquisition of wealth and power is no longer linked to land possession, agricultural production, or industrial output. More and more manual labor is now being performed by machines and robots. The old agriculture and manufacturing jobs are falling to the wayside. Power and wealth is now linked to the possession and production of Data, information, scientific discovery and Knowledge. The old saying: "Knowledge is Power", has never been more valid than today. They nations, companies or individuals who can provide the most knowledge, will be the most influential in society.
So, what has all of this to do with the politicians we were talking about in the beginning? Well, wouldn't it make more sense to have academics or scientists guide and lead the world, since they are experts in their field of endeavor. Wouldn't you think that experts can come up with more common sense and more laws and regulations that actually are good for all mankind? I think it would be a good way to put experts in charge, rather than politicians. Besides, there would be very little chance that they are concerned about staying in power and winning the next elections.
Now, all this might look like outlandish thinking, or dreaming to you, but keep in mind that the economy will move towards being based on Knowledge. Specialists in their field of expertise and academics might simply be put into position of leadership, simply by necessity or economical and societal evolution.
So let's use all our writing works, fiction, non fiction or research, to paint a picture of how things could be and maybe should be. Let's inspire our readers with our stories and articles, to better themselves and help to build a better planet to live on, for all of mankind. I couldn't think of a better reason to use our passion.

Specialized Knowledge

Specialized Knowledge

"Those who are not successful usually make the mistake of believing that the knowledge-acquiring period ends when they finish school. The truth is that schooling does little more than point one in the direction of how to acquire practical knowledge."
There is a myth that formal education is what sets the stone for your success in life. The people with the most education are the ones who will be running the show is what a lot of parents tell their children if they can afford to send them to college. This article will explain why that is only a myth.
The formal education system is based on general knowledge only. General knowledge is based on specific books and theories and not practical life experiences. It is the knowledge from practical life experiences that generates wealth and success. Formal general education is only a way of learning theory and bringing extra book experience into an organization.
Specialized or real-life knowledge is what generated success, innovation, promotion, arts, fame, leadership and wealth. For example Andrew Carnegie personally knew little about the technical side of the steel business. He used his specialized business knowledge in order to expand the steel industry and generate wealth due to his knowledge that lead to the innovation of the steel industry which is an essential industry to the operation of business and manufacturing in the world today.
Henry Ford had little formal education but it was his specialized knowledge of learning how to build a car that lead to the automobile industry and transportation as we know it today. This is what has lead to the continuing wealth of the Ford family for almost infinite generations. Richard Branson dropped out of high school but he used the specialized knowledge that he learned in order to build the Virgin Group and a series of record stores and eventually an few airlines.
This proves that practical and specialized knowledge are what drives the economy and professional development of people. Throughout life you will continue to learn and educate yourself through your professional and personal experiences. Formal and general education gained in grade school and college is only something to broaden the knowledge and experience you have on your resume and to give you a direction and idea of what you want to gain your practical and specialized knowledge on and how you will initially begin to get it.
People who believe that formal and college education is everything you will ever need to know about the professional world are the people who usually are not successful because they believe that learning does not continue in the professional world in order for you become better and rise up in an organization or in society. These are the people who keep getting many degrees and get in so much debt trying to pay off tuition because they need a professor and books to learn instead of going out into the real world and learning on their own the skills to really become successful.
To keep it simple your formal education does not guarantee your success. This is not to bash or talk bad about the university and formal education system but in reality your professional and personal development is what is going to teach your specialized knowledge that will bring you to your success, legacy and wealth in the long run. A Harvard degree may only help you land a job in the short run if you can mark yourself personally marketable.
In your home based multi-level marketing business the potential and success you want to have will only depend upon YOU and your ability to LEARN and gain specialized knowledge along the way and not your amount of general knowledge from formal education.
Formal education is still important for you to gain a direction of what you want to learn if you think you need it but it is your own ambitions and experiences from your ideas and learning practical knowledge that will lead you to the success, wealth and prosperity from any business that you join or invent during your lifetime. There is no limit to success or wealth in life and that is why it is very important to think outside the box and learn specialized knowledge that you think will get you to what YOU really desire during your lifetime.

Overcome The Curse Of Knowledge To Tell Your Business Story More Effectively

Overcome The Curse Of Knowledge To Tell Your Business Story More Effectively

In their best-selling book, Made to Stick, Heath brothers Chip and Dan share the results of a 1990 experiment performed by Elizabeth Newton at Stanford University.
Ms. Newton devised a simple game in which she assigned people to one of two roles: "tappers" and "listeners."
Tappers received a list of 25 well-known songs and were asked to pick one and tap the song's rhythm by knocking on a table. The listener's were asked to guess the song based on the tapped rhythm.
Over the course of the experiment, 120 songs were tapped out.
The interesting twist to the experiment was that Newton asked tappers to predict the odds that the listeners would guess correctly. They predicted that listeners would guess the correct song 50 percent of the time.
Any guess what the actual results were?
Listeners only guessed 2.5 percent of the songs - 3 out of 120.
Why is this? It's simple: When a tapper taps, he hears the song in his head. But listeners cannot hear the tune. They just hear a bunch of disconnected, seemingly random taps.
Chip and Dan write:

"...tappers are flabbergasted at how hard the listeners seem to be working to pick up the tune. Isn't the song obvious?...tappers have been given knowledge (song title) that makes it impossible for them to imagine what it's like to lack that knowledge... This is the Curse of Knowledge. Once we know something, we find it hard to imagine what it was like not to know it. Our knowledge has 'cursed' us."

The tapper/listener quandary is played out every day in business. Business owners tap out tunes and feel frustrated when customers just don't get it.
"Maybe if I tap louder and longer," they think. "Or maybe I just need to offer a 50% discount."
No. What they need to do is get out of the box to see things from the customer's perspective.

News And Current Affairs

News And Current Affairs

Since the television was invented in 1924, news and current affairs programs have surly become one of our main media sources. With this in mind, reporters and stations alike are able to manipulate their audiences through a variety of techniques, to make them believe a representation of reality as opposed to the true fact. This is evident in the current affairs story "Video Game Violence" and the standard news story "Music Video Ban". These similar stories both originated from Channel Nine and represent violence in society's youth today, stating children are at risk if exposed to such material. Through a selection of techniques, the audience is lured into supporting the told story and agreeing with the general attitudes promoted.

Parents are the desired target audience of these stories which is evident through the mentioning of "children" and "youth". Both news reports state that the media available to children today has proven to be devastating on the way they portray everyday life events. "Music Video Ban" is about a graphically violent music video produced by Perth band Beaverloop, creating outrage in society. "Video Game Violence" is a story about the effect of both suitable and non-suitable video games on children, supported by interviews and a psychiatric case study. In "Music Video Ban" to heighten the seriousness of this situation, the Columbine massacre is randomly mentioned and images of victims' families are shown. This is to ‘help' the viewer in understanding the attitude given, and reveals the possibilities of what can happen when access to violent media is too broad. In the "Video Game Violence" story, images of a devastated family from an incident involving a copy-cat murder are displayed. The ideas were taken from an R-rated Australian film known as "Bad Boy Bubby" and were used on Perth girl Natasha in her sleep by her 17 year old boyfriend. This is evidence enough that even the most unexpected can be influenced by meaningless entertainment...

Science seeks hard evidence

EDUCATION
Science seeks hard evidence
By Moin Rahman
September 5, 2005
President Bush has weighed in on the debate on evolution vs. intelligent design (ID) by stating,
"Both sides ought to be properly taught … so people can understand what the debate is about."
At this rate, it appears that Bush may even endorse the requirement, which casts doubt on
evolution, stipulated by the school district of Cobb County, Georgia. The district requires that all
biology textbooks should be affixed with a sticker with the following disclaimer on evolution:
"Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be
approached with an open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered."
Bush has every right to his opinion, but if he thinks that his opinion, which contradicts the
methods of science, has to be made part of the science curriculum, then, "Crawford, we have a
problem."
Of course, this problem can be resolved in a quid pro quo fashion if the president approves the affixing of stickers to scriptures of various faiths with the following words: "This book contains material on revelation. Religion is a theory, not a fact, regarding the creation of life and matter. This material should be questioned, its miracles challenged, and could be rejected for lack of evidence."
An ironic request like this will remind the president that every issue, including faith, has two sides
to it: That is, those who embrace faith, purely on "faith," without requiring any supporting
evidence, and those who reject faith because it is just a creation myth that was passed on to us
by our ancestors.
It is unscientific for public school boards to require biology textbooks to carry a disclaimer that encourages students to turn a blind eye to the massive amounts of evolutionary evidence, from fossils to genetics. Because this evidence, when explained by the theory of evolution, makes a compelling case for natural selection.
Many school boards across the country are conducting hearings to determine the validity and
veracity of the theory of evolution. These hearings are fundamentally flawed for two reasons: (1)
Questioning a particular theory of science does not occur in school boards, but among scientists
who pursue evidence in the field, conduct experiments in the laboratories and publish findings in
scientifically peer-reviewed journals; (2) Why just pick on the theory of evolution while ignoring
other theories -- such as the theory of relativity, atomic theory, germ theory and heliocentric
theory, among others -- that constitute science?
With regard to the creation of species, the methods of science simply state: Show me either the
evidence for the fingerprints left by the (invisible) intelligent designer or for evolution through
natural selection of random mutations, and I will accept it. And, it has indeed accepted the latter,
which was first proposed by Charles Darwin. In a nutshell, science demands eliciting evidence to
support an explanation (theory) through systematic methods of critical thought and inquiry.
ID conveniently excludes evidence relating to the gradual evolution of species and complex
organs such as the eye through natural selection, and simply concludes that complexity can't
arise without a designer.
If a technologically advanced society places knowledge derived by objective data on par with
supernatural explanations in a science textbook, it will devolve once again into a primitive society.

Google AdSense - How To Register For Google AdSense, Fast!

Google AdSense - How To Register For Google AdSense, Fast!:-

For individuals that generate a large number of web sites, or other locations where ads can be placed, Google Adsense is an ideal way to make money. In order to take advantage of this opportunity, you will have to sign up for an Adsense account. It is important to realize that even if you already have a Gmail account, or some other service hosted by Google, you will still need to sign up separately for Adsense.
Once you have located the Adsense registration page, you will need to provide some basic information. Among other things, you will need to provide a physical address. Even if you use a post office box for mailing, Google will not deliver payment to that address. If you feel uncomfortable about disclosing your physical address online, the best thing to do is not sign up for Google Adsense. You may also want to let Google know you do not like their policies on this issue.
After you have completed the registration process, you will need to register each page on your site so that advertisements can be placed on your page. Although the process is not complicated, you will need the assistance of the Adsense tutorials the first few times that you set a page up for Adsense. You will also need to insert a snippet of code on your webpage, so that Google can place the ads where you want them to be seen. Typically, the small amount of time that you spend on this process is worth the financial rewards you will achieve as the site becomes more popular.

Indian Food 101

Indian Food 101:-

Indian Food and Indian Restaurants are common in many parts of the world , but in my pocket of the world they seem to be few and far between. I realized that many Americans may not be accustomed to Indian Food; what to order at an Indian Restaurant or the proper way to eat Indian Food. Since I grew up eating Indian Food, it is natural for me to tear my naan up and soak up the yummy curry. That is why I wanted to put together a short article outlining some common Indian dishes and what you may want to order at an Indian Restaurant. I hope this will encourage you to give Indian Food a try.
More than likely, you will start out with complimentary poppadoms. These are like very thin crackers, but much larger. There are usually 3 sauces or chutneys that go along with poppadoms, a lime green sauce made with cilantro that is somewhat spicy, a dark brown sauce which is very sweet (save some for later, I will tell you why in a moment), and a mango chutney which is very good but pretty hot.
Appetizers:
More than likely you will see Samosas on a an appetizer menu at Indian restaurants. These are a safe option as they are full of flavor but not spicy. They are triangular pastries that are filled with potatoes, peas and other vegetables. The sweet, brown chutney I told you to hang on to goes great on these.
Main Entrees:
Tandoori: Tandoori is always a safe option. This is not a hot and spicy dish at all. It has no heavy sauce to it either. It is simply cooked in a clay oven known as a Tandoori, hence the name. Do not be freaked out by the color. It will come out with a red color especially if you order the chicken. It looks a little weird but it tastes great.
Biryani: (Pronounced beer-e-ani)Think of Biryani as the Indian version of Chinese Fried Rice. It is rice with vegetables (usually including raisins) with your choice of meat. Lamb Biryani is really good. Really it is good with any meat. I probably would not recommend getting Biryani with shrimp. Again, this is another safe choice as it will not be a spicy dish.
Curry: This is really a thick gravy full of cumin, garlic, tamarind and a bunch of other tasty spices made to the hotness of your request. Curry is by far the most well known Indian dish. I like it with beef, lamb, chicken or shrimp.
Masala: This is a creamy tomato sauce which is extremely tasty. Usually it is not overly spicy but you should ask just to be sure. One of my favorites at Indian Restaurant is Chicken Tikka Masala. As a matter of fact, I read somewhere that Chicken Tikka Masala is the number one most ordered dish in England. Having a large Indian population, Indian restaurants seem to pop up everywhere in England. In fact, Indian Food is all I ever want to eat when I go to England.
Vindaloo: (Pronounced Vind-aloo) HOT HOT HOT!! This is one of the hottest dishes you can order. Again, it is made with various spices like curry, but it is really hot. It is so hot in fact, I am not able to eat it and enjoy it. To my palette, the pepper overpowers any other flavor and I cannot enjoy the dish. WARNING: This dish is not for an Indian Food virgin.
It is typical for these dishes to come with basmati (Indian white rice). But you are missing out if you do not order some delicious nann (bread pancakes) to eat with your curry. Part of the experience of eating Indian Food is using your hands to soak up the gravy with the naan.
Although there are various types of naan I recommend starting with something simple like plain nann, or garlic. You usually get 2 pieces which is a gracious plenty for 1 person. You might want to consider 2 orders for 2 people and if there are leftovers they are great for breakfast in the morning.
Indian restaurants do not typically offer any vegetable side dish with the entrees. This is probably because so many Indians are vegetarians, the vegetable entrees are a main course by themselves. Indian curries tend to have very rich sauces and those along with rice and naan will fill you up quickly. But if you feel it necessary to order a vegetable I recommend something with aloo (potato) or baigon (eggplant).
For drinks, Indian beer goes well with Indian food. I usually enjoy a Taj Mahal with my meal. If beer is not your thing, then I highly recommend trying a Mango Lassi. It is a sweet, fruity drink which is like having a milkshake with your dinner.
If you are still able to eat dessert after your filling meal, a good choice is Kulfi. This is Indian Ice Cream, which usually comes in several flavors, two common flavors being mango and pistachio.
Well, there you have it! This should give you enough information to be confident enough to give Indian food a try.

The Delights of Indian Cuisine

The Delights of Indian Cuisine:-

Indian cuisine is one of the most popular types of food in the UK. We love Indian food so much so that we even have a National Curry Week, which usually runs at the end of November. There are well over 10,000 Indian restaurants in the UK and if all the Chicken Tikka Masalas sold in a year were stacked up on top of each other, they would be 2,770 times higher than the Millennium Dome.
But why are us Brits so obsessed with this exotic food, is it perhaps the spicyness that is so often lacking in our own food, or is it the rich creamy curries like Chicken Korma that attract our morose taste buds. India is an extremely large country and much of its culinary history has been influenced by other countries and cultures. The Persians introduced a variety of rich ingredients and nuts as did the Chinese. You will also find that Thai and Malaysian food is heavily influenced by Indian cuisine, which has led them to creating their own delicious curries.
Whatever it is our affection for Indian food goes back further than you would think. In fact you can follow it back some 400 years, when the East India Company allegedly brought various ingredients and dishes to our shores in the 1600s. Most of these adventurous seamen were from Bengal, which is a region in the East of India.
You will find that Indian cuisine differs from region to region with the north being famous for bread dishes such as Roti and Paratha. Where as, if you travel east you will find that sweet dishes such as Rasagolla, which is a savoury cheese ball dipped in syrup is very popular. You will probably not find these dishes at your local Indian restaurant. This is because over time Indian food has been adapted to our tastes and is why you find dishes like Korma and Vindaloo on most Indian takeaway menus.
As more people from India immigrated to the UK our cultural diversity expanded as did our appetite for Indian food and the variety of dishes on offer. One of the first Indian restaurants to open in London was The Shafi back in 1920; it was started by two friends from North India. Ever since then the popularity of Indian cuisine has continued to grow. However, it was not until the 1970s and 80s that going for a curry became as normal going to the pub. It was at this time that many restaurants began to expand their service to also include Indian takeaway.
Our love of Indian food is stronger than ever and our culture has embraced this fantastic cuisine more so than any other. Its rich taste and use of exotic spices has made it a popular choice for couples and families all over the country.

The Day of Judgment Has Arrived - A Short Story

The Day of Judgment Has Arrived - A Short Story:-

There was once a poor old man living with his children in a small house. So poor was he that he could only manage to care for them after undergoing strenuous work. Inspite of their father's struggle to satisfy them, the children were unappreciative. Even though he kept ceaselessly sweating days without end on his farm to earn the money to feed and clothe them, they were not satisfied ... When given food, the greedy children would shout for more... Out of fear, the father would give them more. Whenever he did not, they dashed for the pot and helped themselves to much of what he kept for the next day...
As for clothes, they only cared for the most fashionable ones. Whenever he returned with ordinary and cheap ones, the children would call them 'filthy rags', grab and throw them away. They would then demand more money from him to buy the fashionable ones of their own choice.
The father's health with time broke down and he could not work as hard as before to earn his living. The boys could no longer eat as much as they would like to. They could not get enough even to keep them in good health. No longer were they able to get good clothes to wear. Were now The fanciful clothes of their past desires had now gone far off from their minds.
One day, the brothers were all herded together on a mat, hungry and sad when the youngest of them stood up suddenly and announced, "I have an idea." "Come on out with it, idiot!" the others implored. 'We could go to town and get a job," the young chap said triumphantly, grinning as if he had just discovered the cure for aids.
'Come on now, stupid,' the eldest said. "Is that the brightest idea you can come up with? Can't you see that the way this country has become it is the last thing one should hope for?'
'Well, there is no harm in trying,' he retorted. 'Perhaps we'll strike it lucky.'
'Well,' said the other brother, "we could try something else. People are getting very frustrated these days... So we could easily touch their hearts with something that has appeal and we wouldn't just live, we'd live really well.'
'Good man!' shouted the others excitedly, 'Let's hear it, man. Let's hear it!'
'We'll move out to the farthest part of the country,' he stated, 'and set up ourselves in the church business. We would win many souls who would contribute generously to build our mission'
'Fantastic idea,' they all shouted in great excitement. Fantastic, man! We are going to have lots of money. Soon we will all be millionaires! Oh what a great day that will be for all of us!'
They set out the next day aboard a minibus. They traveled over long stretches of provincial highways. After about five hours' of a tiring journey over rough roads, they arrived at a sparsely populated town. They got out and continued the rest of their journey on foot. After trekking a long way through dense forests, they arrived at a remote Fakai. It was evening in this remote village and people were gathered in the village square.
'Good evening, good people,' they chorused, 'We are men who have been traveling round the country spreading the 'Good News' in an effort to improve your lives and make you happy::' The people embraced them with delight and gave them a joyous welcome.
The next day they started conducting church services in a small clearing in the center of the village. As this continued everyday, many more people in the village got attracted.
Within a few months, a church was built and furnished. The brothers took all the important positions for themselves. The eldest was the Vicar, the next in line was the Curate and the third the Lay reader. The youngest, being under age, was made cleaner. The church now was fully established in the community, with more and more people flocking to it. The brothers, who had come to the town looking lean and worn out, were now plump and dignified-looking. The village was at that time left at the mercy of a well-organized band of thieves. Attempts to curb their activities brought no results. No one felt safe enough to sleep at night. People stayed awake as if on watch. The slightest sound gave rise to a sense of fear and helplessness.
A meeting was called at the village square. Many of the villagers gathered in no time because of the urgency and seriousness of the matter. They discussed the bad things going on in the village. The high point of the assembly was an address by an old woman.
'Things have gone down the gutter. The good things of the past are no more. People are now behaving like jungle beasts. Long gone are the days when the elders were respected. People are selfish now, with no consideration for others... Evil doing has become a sport; everyone is playing it with the utmost glee. People, to destroy each other they use all sorts of means. Everyone wants power and riches, and they are not afraid to do anything in their rush to get them."
"Stealing is no longer the serious crime it once was. . .Big thieves prosper and fatten on us, while we go on suffering. But let them not feel that they are getting their way, for they are certainly not! For God is watching us from above and taking note of all our evil ways. Yes, he is taking stock of all your sinful acts. As God is counting, so will Satan be COUNTING. Moreover, on the DAY OF JUDGMENT, both of them, standing on opposite sides will be picking out those who have made themselves fit to go with either of them. Satan will set his group on one side and God will have his on the other. Now is your time to repent and take sides with God before events overtake you...'
The brothers flashed knowing glances at each other. The meeting then continued. After every operation, the thieves reassembled at the backyard of the church to share out their loot. On Saturday morning, they returned there with a bulky booty. Towards dawn, the cleaner came out to throw away some dirty water. He threw it into the gutter and was retracing his steps indoors when he was struck by voices emanating from the very backyard he was retreating from. He stopped and listened carefully. He heard it only too clearly .now:
"You one, you one, you one, me one, . You one, you one, you one, me one ... " As he turned to go, the voices erupted again.
"You one, you one, you one, me one .
You one, you one, you one, me one ... "
His mind went back to the words of the old woman at the meeting: He knew at once that it was Satan and God talking.
'Eeeehhh! , .. Luud a' mercy oh!' he exclaimed as the realization dawned on him. 'So soon? She knew it was coming so soon; yet she did not warn us to prepare? What should I do now? Oh ya, it's too late! The DAY of JUDGMENT is now here! ... Oh Father! ... Oh Father-God help me! Help me, God!" he cried, throwing his head up and down in deep supplication.
Meanwhile, the thieves continued sharing out their loot in the corner. Remembering some items dropped on the path, one asked, 'What about the ones on the path? Who's going to have them?'
.
The cleaner was shocked. His head was whirling. and spinning in pain. His heart kept beating hard and insistently against his chest, as if struggling to burst free from there. He was certain his time had come.
.
'Where are the ones on the path? I've not seen them yet!' The voices struck him closer than before. His whole frame was now set in violent vibrations. His heart was palpitating at a death-inducing rate. His brain was spinning within his head. Nothing seemed to belong to him any more. It was as if he was floating in mid-air. His feet involuntarily started running away with him, whilst he kept pleading loudly, 'Oh God, have mercy, I beg I beg you please have mercy, oh God, I beg you!' His loud cries brought his brothers out to see what was happening. They were shocked when they saw their brother in such a state. They ran towards him, asking him what the matter was.
"The day of Judgment has come! I saw God and Satan choosing who should go with them."
They could not wait for more. They followed their younger brother until they arrived at a distant forest where they camped and began praying fervently. Since then they have remained there praying and waiting for God to come for them. They are still waiting.
